Alex Gebicke (Creative Director/Lead Designer)
Alex’s passion for design began at an early age. As a young girl living in Avondale, she would often collect samples from local designers & fabric studios to “update” the interiors of her beloved dollhouses.
This early intrigue would eventually lead to a passionate career in the industry. Upon graduation from Stanton College Prep, Alex was selected to attend the design program at the University of Florida. After many long hours in the university studio, Alex emerged a talented, yet untested designer.
Alex has been an Interior Designer at troy spurlin Interiors since Spring of 2012 and previously spent 9+ years under the tutelage of Jim and Phoebe Howard, of James Michael Howard Inc. and their stores Mrs. Howard and Max & Company. While at the Jacksonville Beach location, she was quickly promoted to manager. She was responsible for re-designing the vignettes, successfully managed her own decorating projects, and all while overseeing projects for Phoebe Howard in various locations throughout the country.
Inspiration comes to Alex through multiple aspects of her life. World travel and experiences of various regions and cultures influence her and has led to the use of unique colors, patterns, and landscapes. She and her team of designers masterfully incorporate these experiences into unique designs tailored specifically to each client.
